Tannya Harricks
Tannya is an award winning picture book illustrator and artist who delivers engaging and interactive presentations to school students. Her aim is to inspire children and young people to have confidence in their own unique style of creativity and to utilise creative problem solving in their learning.
Tannya can adapt her presentation for any age group from preschool to highschool. She uses drawing, games and various visual aids, sketches and original artworks to complement her audio visual presentation. Presentations are flexible and can include student drawing activity or Tannya can facilitate themed art workshops.
Dingo by Claire Saxby and illustrated by Tannya was joint winner of the Patricia Wrightson Prize for Children’s Literature at the NSW Premier’s Literary Award (2019); won the Royal Zoological Society of NSW’s Whitley Award (2018); and was shortlisted in 2019 for the CBCA New Illustrator Award, and Best Picture Book in the Educational Publishing Awards. Tannya illustrated Mallee Sky by Jodi Toering 2019 Kookaburra by Claire Saxby 2020 and which were both CBCA Notable books 2020 & 2021. Tannya loved the opportunity to collaborate with creators Cathy Freeman & Coral Vass on her most recently published title, The Heartbeat of the Land (Larrikin House) 2022 and it was shortlisted for the Wilderness Society Karajia award for children’s literature. Night Watch by Jodi Toering for Walker Books Australia is the most recent title illustrated by Tannya and due for release on February 1 2024.
