Kyle Mewburn

Kyle Mewburn has had over 40 books published in 11 countries...so far. These are mostly picture books and junior fiction - including Kiss! Kiss! Yuck! Yuck! (NZ Post Best Picture Book and Children's Choice Award 2007 and Flicker Tale Award winner in North Dakota, USA); Old Hu-hu (Book of the Year 2010); Hill & Hole (shortlisted in this year's finals), and his latest Dinosaur Rescue series. Kyle’s books are proving to be extremely popular with the 6-12year old boy’s audience in particular, both in NZ and Australia. He has also written several School Reader series for Oxford University Press, Australia.

Originally from Brisbane, he is now based in New Zealand where he lives in a house with a grass roof in the middle of nowhere in the far south of the South Island of New Zealand. Any closer to the South Pole and his neighbours would be Penguins. When Kyle isn’t writing he’s either in his garden singing to his vegies, in the creek swimming or exploring the strange land he’s discovered at the back of his wardrobe (ok, that last bit may not be completely true...)

His visits are high-energy, inspirational and funny ... so he’s been told.

Testimonials

  • Kyle's visit was informative and entertaining. He had a great connection to the students and presented his material in a humorous way. He was punctual and kept to timeframes.

I would definitely recommend him to others.
