Aleesah was an engaging an interesting speaker and the children really enjoyed her presentations. Her writer's workshop worked well with the year level and the students got a lot out of it.

Deb was a very engaging speaker and performer. The children really enjoyed the visit and have been madly borrowing her books. Deb pitched her talk to each year level and managed to have everyone laughing and learning at their level - including the teachers.

His presentation was polished and he got through everything he wanted in the hour. Giving a publisher pitch to the kids was a great idea – it got them drawing, and gave a real (simplified) idea of what it’s like to work as an illustrator – the rejections, the processes, some tips and tricks, some of the lingo. He gave them deadlines (one or two minutes) and got them to add settings and backgrounds.

Rachel was very funny and engaging and the kids were buzzing when they left. Several of the teachers commented about how much they enjoyed it. She really pushed the message about how important reading is.

Paula’s presentation was greatly appreciated by participants, who found it very inspiring and useful.

In 2021 I had the pleasure of attending a presentation given by Stephany Steggall about her book ‘A Time To Be Born: The Feyisa Lilesa Story’. All who attended were mesmerised by Stephany’s recounting of her journey with this book: its inspiration, the challenges and joys she faced, her meticulous research and travel to Ethiopia and the writing of the book. Sandhya Parappukkaran’s session was focused on brainstorming ideas for writing topics. The students left the session truly inspired, begging to continue with their ideas when we returned to class. We have since been able to use these techniques in the classroom. This was an excellent session where the students learnt great skills, including incorporating their own cultures or special memories into their writing.

All communications with Speakers Ink Agency were effective and prompt. Staff were very pleasant to deal with.

The students were engaged by David's ability to understand their interests and needs. Ranged from personal interaction to hands-on activities. We hope to invite David again next year during our Visit Japan Week.

Thank you for yesterday - it was a wonderfully fun and informative hour. Kate was really great and seemed to have a real connection with the students.

Victoria was a wonderful addition to our Literary Festival this year. She engaged fully with the boys and offered many insights into the writing process and how to create intrigue and drama within a story. The boys were fully engaged, particularly in the playwrighting workshops.
