What people are saying
Aleesah was an engaging an interesting speaker and the children really enjoyed her presentations. Her writer's workshop worked well with the year level and the students got a lot out of it.
In 2021 I had the pleasure of attending a presentation given by Stephany Steggall about her book ‘A Time To Be Born: The Feyisa Lilesa Story’. All who attended were mesmerised by Stephany’s recounting of her journey with this book: its inspiration, the challenges and joys she faced, her meticulous research and travel to Ethiopia and the writing of the book. The audience was inspired and deeply moved by Stephany’s presentation which opened a window into Ethiopian culture. Even more inspiring an [...]
A visit from Annie meets all expectations... She engages well with the students and goes to a lot of trouble to bring in items for the students to focus on as she speaks about her work. She is always friendly and interacts well with our staff. We have invited Annie out three times now and each time she has been just as generous with both the sharing about her work and with donating her books (to those in our school who would benefit from a gift of her books). Thanks for your help in organising [...]
His presentation was polished and he got through everything he wanted in the hour. Giving a publisher pitch to the kids was a great idea – it got them drawing, and gave a real (simplified) idea of what it’s like to work as an illustrator – the rejections, the processes, some tips and tricks, some of the lingo. He gave them deadlines (one or two minutes) and got them to add settings and backgrounds.
I just wanted to let you know that your Graffiti Moon continues to be in our popular listing of fiction titles– and I still receive congratulations and well done’s on how fantastic you were with the girls at assembly.
Paula’s presentation was greatly appreciated by participants, who found it very inspiring and useful.
Once again Speakers Ink provided a wonderful service. You are my first point of call for organising speakers when I need to. Speakers Ink does a great job and your costs are very reasonable given what is delivered. I do look forward to working with you again.
Thank you for yesterday - it was a wonderfully fun and informative hour. Kate was really great and seemed to have a real connection with the students.
Rachel was very funny and engaging and the kids were buzzing when they left. Several of the teachers commented about how much they enjoyed it. She really pushed the message about how important reading is.
Deb was a very engaging speaker and performer. The children really enjoyed the visit and have been madly borrowing her books. Deb pitched her talk to each year level and managed to have everyone laughing and learning at their level - including the teachers.
"There were lots of positive comments from participants, praising Dimity’s lively and clear presentation, her creative writing ideas and helpful suggestions. I’d highly recommend Dimity as a presenter, especially for Primary Schools in the area of creative writing." "I found the material that was presented has already been very useful. I have implemented the RAFT activity as a warm up in the Learning Enhancement Centre… and several of my students could not wait to commence the task. Many of thes [...]
“Insane in ye brain” – Charlie’s performance “The Shakespeare Session” was in a word, fantastic. The students and staff of Pacific Pines SHS enjoyed every minute of the engaging, informative and highly entertaining performance that explored the central themes of Shakespeare’s most famous and memorable works. With his catchy hip hop beats, raps about the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and the exploration of Macbeth – affectionately referred to during [...]
Victoria was a wonderful addition to our Literary Festival this year. She engaged fully with the boys and offered many insights into the writing process and how to create intrigue and drama within a story. The boys were fully engaged, particularly in the playwrighting workshops.
