CBCA Book Week 2018
The Children's Book Council of Australia has released some free and downloadable images to promote this years theme Find your Treasure. This beautiful artwork has been created by the very talented Anna Walker.
The Spotlight is on Maria Gill
Our own Maria Gill has collaborated with author Fifi Colston to develop a display on Children's War Books for Brisbane Libraries.
Maria's latest illustrated non-fiction book ANZAC Heroes (Scholastic, 2016) showcases the exciting tales of 30 Australian and New Zealand heroes during WW1 and WW2. It won the 2016 Best Non-fiction Book Award and the Book of the Year Award at the New Zealand Book Awards for Children & Young Adults.
Maria, who resides in New Zealand, will be in Brisbane from Tuesday, 29th May through to Friday, 8th June to visit and talk in schools and generally promote the exhibition.
'We appreciated Maria's presentation because the children, and the teachers, not only found her engaging and inspiring, but it was refreshing to gain an author's perspective of non-fiction writing.'
Mongawai Primary
As always, if you would like to book Maria or any of our authors/illustrators/poets and other speakers, please visit our website or phone 07-3040-8465.
Congratulations..
