Voices on the Move 

Brian Falkner will be touring around the Casino area in Northern NSW the week commencing Monday, 3rd June and would love to come to inspire young readers and writers at your school or library.  If you would like to consider a booking with Brian, please make contact with our office.

Brian is a master of his craft and is able to transfer that knowledge to the
young writers in an engaging and highly productive way.

The Spotlight is on Richard Yaxley

Richard Yaxley is an award-winning author based in Queensland. His novel This Is My Song (Scholastic) won the 2018 Prime Ministers Award for Young Adult Literature and was also a finalist in the 2017 Queensland Literary Awards. Prior to this, Richard was the winner of the Queensland Premier’s Young Adult Literary Award for Drink the Air (Strictly Literary 2010) and another novel, Joyous and Moonbeam (Scholastic 2014) was shortlisted for the West Australian Premier’s Awards. His most recent YA publication is The Happiness Quest (Scholastic 2018)   Richard was a great speaker who engaged boys and parents. 		Tristan Bancks will be launching Detention at Romancing the Stars (Gold Coast), an event organised by BookLinks partnering with the Somerset Storyfest.

Books I Love Best Yearly (The BILBY awards)

The CBCA (Qld branch) runs the ​BILBY awards each year to encourage young people to read. This year, they are invited to "Burrow through the Notables" by voting online for their favourite from the CBCA's nominated titles. Teachers, librarians and parents interested in enticing their young ones to vote can find out more information here.

	3 Aug	Book Launch of Pippa by Dimity Powell Riverbend, Bulimba
	16 Aug	CBCA Book of the Year award winners and honour books announced at noon AEST.
