This will be our last e-Bulletin for 2019. On behalf of the Speakers Ink Team thank you one and all for continuing to support Speakers Ink and the fabulous speakers we have the privilege to represent.
Your continued support has ensured another growth year enabling more authors, illustrators and other speakers to be connected with more students than ever before - always our number one priority!
Moving into 2020 be sure to check out our full list of speakers - we have added quite a few new members to our family.
Speakers Ink will be moving into holiday mode from December 16, however we will still be checking emails - it may just take a little longer to respond to enquiries. So, please don't hesitate to make contact if you have a speaking need for 2020.
We wish you all the best for the remainder of 2019 and look forward to working with you again in 2020.
Happy Holidays to you all!
Rate Increase for 2020
During 2019 the Australian Society of Authors (ASA) has once again conducted a review of speaker rates of pay. The ASA is the governing body from which we base our standard fee structure.
Upon conducting a review of the new rates, Speakers Ink is pleased to advise that there will only be minimal increases in 2020. Moving forward, the ASA has advised that all rates will be subject to an annual CPI Increase. This means that on 1 January each year new fees will apply. Any booking secured prior to the end of 2019 will be costed at current rates.
Beat the Rate Increase and Win Books for your Library!
As an incentive to beat the rate increase, Speakers Ink is offering you the opportunity to win a "Mystery Bundle" of books for your Library. Any 2020 booking secured during Term 4 of 2019 will not only be costed at current rates, but will also put you in the running to win the "Mystery Bundle".
Contact Speakers Ink today - winner will be announced at the start of the 2020 school year.
Voices on the Move
Deborah AbelaandGus Gordoneach have one day left on their 2020 Qld tours - Friday 4 September. Book now to beat the rate increase.
Deb was captivating as she shared her stories and the inspiration for her books. Her extension writing workshop had our students creating fantastic stories and most disappointed when the home time bell rang. We have had a constant wait list of students wanting to borrow her books. I would highly recommend Deb for author visits. - Holy Family School
Gus Gordon was fabulous today! The children and teachers are still talking about his visit! - St. John Vianney
Of course, we have a number of inspiring speakers visiting to Brisbane and elsewhere over the coming months - check out all the up-to-date details on our Touring Speakers page.
The Spotlight is on James Roy
James Roy is the award-winning author of twenty incredibly successful books for children and young adults. James has always had a strong desire to write for teens believing that while young adult readers can be tough critics, they respond very positively to sincerity, authenticity, and quality stories featuring strong, well-constructed characters.
James’ visit met expectations and beyond. Everything James had to share was greatly received by staff and students. I would definitely recommend him.
- Rainworth State School
James will be in FNQ during the week of 2 March and is available for bookings at that time.
