Voices on the Move

These Speakers Inkers will be on the move during July and August.  For more details about where they will be and how to book, visit us here.

Chris Collin

There were so many elements to Chris’ presentation. It was great fun for staff and students. I was particularly impressed with how he managed this large group of grade 1’s and held their attention!

 - Moreton Bay Regional Libraries - August, 2016

Michael Salmon

Thanks so much for the wonderful performance last Friday. So many positive comments (and that was just the teachers).

I don't think the kids have enjoyed a more entertaining
session. One staff member said it was the best show we've ever had."

- Glenvale State School, Toowoomba, September, 2011
Krista Bell

Krista Bell is an award-winning Melbourne based author and an established ABC Radio children’s book reviewer. Krista's 27 popular titles for children include her picture book Peeking Ducks with illustrations by Sally Rippen.

Darren Groth

The Grade 9 students greatly enjoyed Darren’s book talk; they were engaged and really enjoyed that he was funny. They were spellbound. Also, his leaving a lot of time for questions about writing and inspiration was excellent.

- Delta Secondary School

The Spotlight is on BOOK WEEK!

Escape to Everywhere is the theme for this year's CBCA Book Week, celebrated across the country in August of each year. Book Week is the busiest time of the year for Speakers Ink as writers, illustrators, poets and performance artists connect with readers in schools and libraries around the nation. This year, the theme is beautifully supported by Freya Blackwood's amazing artwork. The theme as well as the shortlisted books are inspiring students and teachers alike in their learning, love of reading, and love of great literature.

It is not too late to book a speaker to enhance your celebration of Book Week, as many other schools, libraries and groups have done over the years. There are many testimonials on our speakers pages to assist you with making a choice of speaker.

But wait, there's more - we also have speakers who are available for a
'virtual visit' using Skype, or check the list above for our touring speakers.

Congratulations to...

Brisbane Writers Festival - Volunteer

Anyone out there with time on their hands, or just love being involved in all things literary? Up Lit is the organisation behind the Brisbane Writers Festival, held in September each year.  Volunteers are invited to submit an application for a range of roles at the Festival.  Why not put your hand up?  The opportunity is there to experience a literary feast, hear authors, meet like-minded people and generally enjoy the Brisbane literary scene.
