Barry Jonsberg was born in Liverpool in England – home of the world’s greatest soccer team [NOT Everton].
He moved to Australia in 1999 and became an Australian citizen in 2007, though this does not prevent him from supporting the England cricket team.Someone has to.
Barry has a B.A. Hons in English Literature and a Master of Philosophy degree in the same subject.
He was a lecturer in English in the UK and a high school teacher in Darwin, where he now lives with his wife, Anita, two children, Lauren and Brendan, and a couple of eccentric dogs.
Barry still teaches occasionally, but looks upon writing as his full-time occupation.
Barry was well received by all the schools that he visited. His participation in our Readers Cup Competition was also great. He was an asset to the overall event.

Thank you for recommending Barry Jonsberg for this year’s Literature Festival Day. It was a huge success and we have had wonderful feedback from students and teachers.

We had a lovely Literature Event yesterday. Barry Jonsberg was fantastic, all the sessions went smoothly and we have had great feedback from the staff and students. Barry’s sessions had the students laughing and applauding throughout.
We are now thinking about next year and would love to have Barry back. We had a great time, thanks so much.
