Mick Elliott

Mick Elliott is an acclaimed author, illustrator, TV producer, screenwriter and literacy ambassador whose books have been published in six international territories.
He has written and illustrated picture books, junior fiction and middle grade series with Hachette, Walker Books and Scholastic. His debut series, THE TURNERS was nominated for an Aurealis Award and features on the NSW Premiers’ Reading Challenge. His picture book MUMS AND MOGS won a prestigious cover design award at the Whitsunday Writers Festival.

His latest book, URANUS FC, a graphic novel about a soccer team in space debuts in May 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup. It is the first in a brand-new series from Scholastic
Mick has written and produced acclaimed children’s shows for the ABC, Nickelodeon, the Sesame Workshop and Channel TEN.
He has presented talks and workshops at hundreds of schools and festivals all across Australia, delighting young readers with his high-energy, interactive sessions which celebrate storytelling, comic illustration and creativity. He is a passionate believer that every child has a right to creative expression.
Mick has presented keynote speeches, panels and writing/illustration workshops to adults, TLs and corporate events. He is a judge and ambassador the Kids’ Cancer Project WRITE A BOOK IN A DAY initiative.

CARTOON CHARACTER DRAWING WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS

In this fun and free-wheeling cartooning workshop, Mick Elliott encourages students to reconsider what they believe about their drawing skills and to learn how easy it is to create a cartoon character with just a few dots and
dashes.
All that’s required is pen, paper and imagination.
WRITING WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS
