Sue Lewin is an early childhood teacher and talented singer and songwriter. Sue grew up in England and has taught in Israel, Thailand and Australia, collecting and writing songs wherever she goes.  She has produced eleven music CDs for young children which include traditional songs and dances as well as original songs.   

Her CD with children's entertainer Mike Jackson, is Come on and Move your Body  - a collection of action songs for children (original and traditional), humorous songs and dances.

A passion of Sue’s is writing songs for special occasion such as working with classes or multi age groups to devise a school song.

This year, she was commissioned by the Ipswich District Teacher-Librarian Network to write a song especially for Book Week. The lyrics to the song Curious Creatures include many favourite literary characters :-book loving children may enjoy seeing how many they recognise. Sue also conducts Incidental music making workshops with young children.  Sue believes that children learn best when they are active agents in their own learning. Her workshops are interactive and firmly grounded in EYLF and the NQF.

Rhymes, rhythms, tunes and tales:- writing songs together

This hands-on workshop will illustrate how incidental music making in the child's environment aids their love of music and helps to develop their creativity and imagination and at the same time will help to develop confidence in using music with young children.

This hands -on workshop explores the components, process and creativity of developing songs and lyrics .

Suitable for primary age children.
