It was a wonderful visit last week and an experience that did support many of the messages we deliver to students regarding writing, creativity and engaging in literacy. I was particularly thrilled with the messages Kirsty gave regarding the process and long journey attached to being a writer.

Sandie and the team are prompt with communication and very accommodating.

Angela was well prepared, informative with all sessions age appropriate. A great job!

The presentation was engaging, succinct and explicit. Ideas/information relevant to in-class writing program - how to improve students' own writing using different techniques. Important tips of pursuing a career in writing. It was good to hear from a "real life" author.

We had Shane McCarthy in the Senior School and he was terrific! Shane worked with Years 7-10 English classes and thoroughly engaged the students. He also struck up many informal and enthusiastic conversations with both staff and students between classes. The English faculty were very impressed with the way in which Shane interacted with the students and got them thinking about their writing and viewing.

The students and teachers were very impressed with Peter and should funds allow, we would like to have him back again next year.

I was very impressed by Jess’s professionalism and authenticity when she recently visited our Year 2 students. Jess captivated the group by sharing the ‘real-life events’ which prompted her to write some of her stories. She provided a safe space for our students to share their own experiences and gently encouraged many to start writing about their own precious memories. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jess to other schools as she has left such a positive impression here at Marymount [...]

Our visit from Cartoon Dave was extraordinary. The experience more than met our expectations. Dave was on time, zany and kept the children and adults thoroughly entertained for the duration of their sessions. He was very explicit about what he needed for the visit, without be demanding. I would thoroughly recommend Dave to other schools and especially small schools, such as ours.

Victoria was great with our students. She worked with them to build their ideas and to express themselves creatively. The students thoroughly enjoyed her presentation and she was very generous with her time when they had a lot of questions.

We all thought the session was brilliant and as you could see the children were thoroughly engaged.

Brian was outstanding. Our students thoroughly enjoyed his knowledge, guidance and sense of humour. Our budding writers did a fabulous job and thoroughly enjoyed the day! Thank you Brian

Our students enjoyed an interactive and fun-filled session with Kristin Darell. The talk was so beautifully designed to suit the needs of our students and was thoroughly enjoyed by our whole Primary school community. Students really enjoyed learning about her writing and character development process, teachers also found it so valuable in the way she directly supported classroom learning about writing. Peter's workshop was, without a doubt, the highlight of our library year! We already have plans to invite Peter back for a follow-up workshop in the near future. I also wanted to thank you for making Peter available to schools through Speakers Ink.
