Lian was very engaging and had a variety of different aspects in her presentation. The students learnt a lot about the process of writing a picture book and particularly enjoyed building a story together.

Astred’s Masterclass was absolutely fantastic and a highlight of Book Week. She has such a unique job and shared the design process behind book covers and illustrations in a way that really captured our students’ imaginations. Their feedback said it all, with one student writing “It was inspiring and beautiful” and another saying “I enjoyed the fun way that she shared the information.” We found her warm, engaging and genuinely passionate, which made the session memorable for our students and tea [...]

Vacen presented a series of engaging workshops for our students in years 4, 5 and 6 at our 2020 School Book Week. It was wonderful how she catered her program around “writing focus” requests from teachers. The children thoroughly enjoyed not only the writing activity but also the chance to learn about “World Building” in Fantasy writing and character development. Vacen was prepared, professional and it was a pleasure hosting her here at Our Lady of Mt Carmel.

Andrew is so passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic and his presentations are very engaging, inspiring and educational. He maintained interest for a full hour with our young children 3-5 years brilliantly. The children love his books and respond to his enthusiasm. There is so much to learn, explore and discover in them.

I did have some issues with finding a speaker who was available to meet our needs. The staff from Speakers Ink preserved in finding a speaker to meet our needs including days and time.

Thank you for the day you spent at Chisholm. The kids all enjoyed their time with you and found your stories interesting and engaging. The feedback from teachers has also been very positive, especially in relation to your ability to relate to the students. The English HOD was interested in getting you back in the future!

Thanks for organizing the author talk yesterday. Our girls had a lovely time and left feeling quite inspired about writing. I really appreciated the opportunity to attend.

The Narrative Workshops in Year 3/4 conducted by Chrissy Byers were extremely rewarding for students. They were well run and made efficient use of time. The visual prompts used were engaging and made it possible for the students to clearly structure a narrative into beginning, middle and end. To make the writing more interesting and individual, Chrissy endorsed the use of a Hook Question. All the students loved Stef’s story workshops and we now have some very enthusiastic young authors at Lisieux. Her presentations and workshops were pitched at the perfect level for each age group. The Foundations got on board with acting out scenes from A Home for Luna and Stef had complete control over this activity.
