What people are saying
Francis gave an engaging talk to our students on writing feature articles based on her experiences. The practical activities she used with the students were great.
We had a lovely Literature Event yesterday. Randa was fantastic, her sessions were thought-provoking, everything went smoothly and we have had great feedback from the staff and students. We are now thinking about next year and would love to have Randa back. We had a great time, thanks so much.
Gregg always delivers a memorable experience, he engages with everyone that attend his shows. It is such a privilege to hear his stories and understand how these stories are inspired and created. He shares important cultural messages which relate to this day and age. Thank you Gregg Dreise from the Sunshine Beach SS community.
Both Michelle and Pat were very well received at our school. They were organised and what they presented was engaging for the students. We had positive feedback from both staff and students. Thanks very much.
Sue exceeded expectations. She was brilliant and received great feedback from our participants. Thank you for your service. It is great to work with such an organised team.
Great communication and a genuine willingness to answer questions.
I just wanted to thank you on behalf of Ormiston College. Our guest visitors certainly enjoyed your presentation and as one person said on leaving “From now on I will be looking for his cartoon before I even read the front page.” Thank you again for being a part of our 25th Anniversary Literary Lunch.
Carla was the guest author at our annual Read With Your Dad event. This involves students and their Dads all reading the same book then attending an author evening. Feedback from all was that they really enjoyed Carla's book, We Saw What You Started and found the action, characters and setting all drew them in. From my perspective as a teacher librarian, I loved that I could easily recommend this book as both suitable and enjoyable to our readers aged 12 - 15. On the evening of the event, we cou [...]
Alison presented to our Year 7s as part of their work in English on writing from a perspective as a historical figure. She held the students’ interest with her calm delivery and engaging stories about how she used historical research into her own middle grade novel, inspiring them to weave interesting facts into their own work. Ali was easy to work with and very professional; I was particularly impressed with how she linked our students’ work with her own presentation to make it even more relata [...]
Kellie presented to our whole school from Kindy to Year 6 and adjusted her presentations to fit the different year groups. She was engaging and well prepared. Both staff and students enjoyed her presentations and gave very positive feedback.
Scott was accommodating to our needs with a boys' class who had read one of his books. He inspired them to continue to read and to work on their writing.
I thoroughly enjoyed Juliette's visit. She was bright happy and energetic and honest. We all loved her sense of humour. I loved the way she opened up about a writer’s life and her family, the children could really identify with her. Room 3's eyes were alight when she read the book we had focused on. It was great for the students to have Juliette explain how she created 'Gwendolyn' as that was the book that was assigned to our class. It was particularly great for the children to see how an auth [...]
