Choose Your Own Adventure!
To tie in with the 2025 Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, Dave Lowe has adapted his popular ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ workshop, as a ‘presentation’-style 45- / 60-minute session for large groups of students, from Years 3 to 8. In this fun, highly-interactive session, Dave will share insights into ideas-generation and plotting, and give each student a story template, as well as all the tips and tricks they’ll need to make their own short ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’-style book that they can take home and try out on friends and family.

What people are saying
Richard was a great speaker who engaged boys and parents. He had a perfect manner with the audience and they enjoyed the evening.
The boys loved Jo's presentation and they liked her tips for building the story particularly her travels to Finland for research.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Rory H. Mather, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. His insights and expertise into lyrical story writing and rhyme is amazing and the art of story and persistance is truly inspirational. Rory’s approach combines practicality with deep emotional intelligence, enabling students to unlock their potential and achieve their writing goals with a never give up approach. The strategies he offers are not only effective but also easy to implement, making a [...]
The process from start to finish was very easily managed, we were kept in the loop when needed and were given Peter's contact information for one on one confirmation of resources and set up requirements.
Absolutely great entertainment, a good laugh with thoughtful reflection. Our young and older crowd really enjoyed the evening
Chris made his presentation engaging for all of the students. He incorporated songs, dances and actions into the event. The younger grades really loved his books.
Lucia was bright, bubbly & the students adored her. She did everything I asked her to present as an illustrator. Excellent!
Josie was really well prepared and put the focus on key aspects of Podcasting which I know meant she had to reframe lots of her story writing info. She had lots of great advice and interesting ideas. (Customised Presentation)
Darren was a very engaging and gracious author to present to our students during Book Week. He presented to 3 different year groups and was entertaining and willing to answer any of the boys' questions. I would have no hesitation in asking him to the school to present again. He was great fun.
Zachary Ashford tailored his presentation to a diverse and large cohort of students. His sessions were interactive, engaging and entertaining. Zach sought feedback constantly and communicated effectively throughout our visit. Would definately recommend!
Our class had the pleasure of chatting with Charlotte Birkmanis and it was a highlight for the year for all involved. Charlotte was absolutely charming, full of amazing information, and incredibly captivating. She took what we had learned in class about the Great Barrier Reef and sharks and was able to take it to a whole new level. I have been enamoured with sharks for as long as I can remember and I cannot fully express how WONDERFUL this experience was and how ridiculously thankful that I am t [...]
Simon was great . He manipulated his presentations to the age level and composition of the audience and handled both the 130 students presentation and the 50 students equally well. Would definitely get Simon back next year again if he’s available.
Sarah's whole school performance and workshop sessions were so incredibly engaging and captivating. She was able to retain the attention of all students from Kindergarten to Year 6! Sarah's presentation was fun, exciting and very humorous. She has left our students incredibly inspired, thank you Sarah!
