What people are saying
I was very impressed by Jess’s professionalism and authenticity when she recently visited our Year 2 students. Jess captivated the group by sharing the ‘real-life events’ which prompted her to write some of her stories. She provided a safe space for our students to share their own experiences and gently encouraged many to start writing about their own precious memories. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jess to other schools as she has left such a positive impression here at Marymount [...]
Our visit from Cartoon Dave was extraordinary. The experience more than met our expectations. Dave was on time, zany and kept the children and adults thoroughly entertained for the duration of their sessions. He was very explicit about what he needed for the visit, without be demanding. I would thoroughly recommend Dave to other schools and especially small schools, such as ours.
Our students enjoyed an interactive and fun-filled session with Kristin Darell. The talk was so beautifully designed to suit the needs of our students and was thoroughly enjoyed by our whole Primary school community. Students really enjoyed learning about her writing and character development process, teachers also found it so valuable in the way she directly supported classroom learning about writing. Kristin also shared about her life journey as a writer which made it personal, interesting and [...]
Angela was well prepared, informative with all sessions age appropriate. A great job!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit from Brian Falkner. The kids are still desperate to get their hands on his books when it comes to borrowing time each week! Brian was funny, entertaining and creative in his approach with the kids. His presentation was fantastic and even the teachers were raving after his day with us. We would definitely recommend him to other schools and certainly have him back again.
Peter's workshop was, without a doubt, the highlight of our library year! We already have plans to invite Peter back for a follow-up workshop in the near future. I also wanted to thank you for making Peter available to schools through Speakers Ink.
We had Shane McCarthy in the Senior School and he was terrific! Shane worked with Years 7-10 English classes and thoroughly engaged the students. He also struck up many informal and enthusiastic conversations with both staff and students between classes. The English faculty were very impressed with the way in which Shane interacted with the students and got them thinking about their writing and viewing.
The feedback has been great - so positive about the interactive nature of your presentation. You definitely won the staff over - they were full of praise about the way you approached the session and the kids loved the information about other authors, character development and being so interactive!
We all thought the session was brilliant and as you could see the children were thoroughly engaged.

Victoria was great with our students. She worked with them to build their ideas and to express themselves creatively. The students thoroughly enjoyed her presentation and she was very generous with her time when they had a lot of questions.
Giuseppe was brilliant! He got the students involved and really gave them a good idea of the story writing process.
