Just wanting to let you know that Lisa & Tracy's visit last Friday was very successful. The students enjoyed it immensely and the teachers were very impressed as well. So... very happy all round.
We had the opportunity to listen to Jess Black speak during the Newcastle Writer’s Festival. The students found her presentation entertaining and very interesting. Listening to stories from Jess’ youth and her love for animals and the pleasure she received from their many adventures were both enjoyable and engaging. Like the books Jess has written, she really had the ability to relate to the children and take their imaginations on a memorable journey. During the presentation Jess was able to [...]
At our Readers Cup event in August, Taryn spoke with passion about her writing process. She really connected with the audience of young adult readers and their families. Her talent as a writer clearly extends to speaking about her characters and their stories. Taryn's enthusiasm to support our event shows how much she values reading and the importance of promoting this to young people.
I asked for recommendations of presenters in my area and received a detailed and informative response that reflected how well Speakers Ink know their presenters.
An excellent day. Such a great experience for students to get writing, and to receive instant feedback on their work. Phillip’s insights and presentation were very helpful – it is so good for students to hear directly from a professional author! I also came away inspired to get writing!
Lorraine was a fantastic speaker. She gave the students ideas of how poets work and ran a workshop to practise the skills, so there was a good balance between the theory and the practise which is better for primary students. Her introductory session was also informative and her reading of the poems was good. Just having the opportunity to meet a writer and poet is an experience too.
Thank you so much for the wonderful work you did with our girls yesterday and for sharing your work with us!
Get him Along! He will impact your kids and give them insights into how to make good decisions long term.
Tim's presentation was entertaining and engaging. He had students from yrs 3, 4 5 and 6 in the palm of his hand and his books have been unavailable in our library ever since. His teaching background made his presentation very applicable to teaching story writing skills as well as creative ideas for story writing. Our teachers were especially impressed by the practical nature of Tim's presentation. Absolutely worth every penny.
Deb was a very engaging speaker and performer. The children really enjoyed the visit and have been madly borrowing her books. Deb pitched her talk to each year level and managed to have everyone laughing and learning at their level - including the teachers.
Everyone here was thrilled with the effort, care and attention shown by Angela in the judging process, presentation at the awards event and workshop the following morning. Angela provided the audience with a passionately entertaining judges report and spent time afterward talking to entrants individually. The next day there was a good crowd of eager participants including some school students given time out from school because they were so impressed with Angela the evening before. I would highl [...]
