Choose Your Own Adventure!
To tie in with the 2025 Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, Dave Lowe has adapted his popular ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ workshop, as a ‘presentation’-style 45- / 60-minute session for large groups of students, from Years 3 to 8. In this fun, highly-interactive session, Dave will share insights into ideas-generation and plotting, and give each student a story template, as well as all the tips and tricks they’ll need to make their own short ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’-style book that they can take home and try out on friends and family.

What people are saying
Sarah was fabulous! Her presentation was jam packed full of useful information and I have had lots of positive feedback from everyone who attended.
Edwina Shaw was a fabulous addition to our Literary Festival. She taught our Year 9 boys to write effectively by engaging their interests and making writing relatable and enjoyable. Her creative techniques, meditation and visualising were effective in drawing out their ideas and encouraging personal expression. Shaw's approach included interactive activities, real-life examples, and positive reinforcement to build their confidence and skills in writing.
Kristian Santic is the man you need in any creative fix: hugely talented, possessing unlimited curiosity and a ferocious work ethic, and (good lord) he’s just lovely to have in the rehearsal room and theatre. He’s quick too. You’ll want to work with him again and again.
Speakers Ink is an agency that handles my requests and questions promptly and efficiently. I like that they don't bombard me but give me enough assistance to make our author visits successful. I always feel comfortable in my dealings with Speakers Ink.
David catered for our audience well. He was engaging and entertaining. The students have provided feedback expressing their enjoyment of the visit.
Angela was really easy and enjoyable to work with. Her content was highly relevant for our students. We have had excellent feedback form students and staff.
Dannika was well prepared and engaged well with the students
Pamela's visit was very well received by our girls. The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets she used to accompany her workshops with our year 8 and 10 girls were engaging and useful for the girls when thinking about how to successfully structure a story. I would thoroughly recommend Pamela for an author visit to other schools, particularly all girls' schools as many of her novels deal with females as the main protagonists.
Kate's presentation was engaging and interesting for students. She led them in imaginative exercises, encouraging them to think and create their own stories.
Thank you for your awesome presentation! The students were engaged the whole time and loved experiencing your stories as you told them. The great point about the power of using the senses to paint pictures in our audience's mind was fantastic. Using this technique in your storytelling helped students see how valuable this tool can be. Thank you for visiting our school and sharing your life as an author... very engaging and inspiring!
Belinda’s presentation style was very suitable for our students. She connected well with all year levels and understood how to engage them. I was very impressed with her style personable and very approachable for students. I would welcome Belinda again to speak to our students.
Amanda is truly an inspiration and very well prepared with highly engaging activities. Very inspiring and we welcome her back every year to work with our students.
