Benjamin Gilmour is a very engaging speaker with a wealth of personal experience and wonderful anecdotes. Given the breadth of his creativity in writing as well as film, no student leaves his talks without being touched in some way.

Year 5 students and teachers gained so much from Michelle’s presentation. The teachers took many notes to enhance their poetry unit for next year.

Dimity was very engaging and enthusiastic in her presentation to the students. I heard positive feedback from teachers that they had gone back to their classrooms and worked on activities which were based on what she had spoken about. That is the highest compliment in my view.

We had a lovely Literature Event yesterday. Catherine Bateson was fantastic, especially for poetry, all the sessions went smoothly and we have had great feedback from the staff and students. The English department have even said that students would have liked more time with Catherine for the poetry component. We are now thinking about next year and would love to have Catherine back. We had a great time, thanks so much.

Annie came a long way to speak to a LOT of children. She was delightful, just like her books, and the children were engaged and responsive. Annie went to the trouble of bringing lots of her original illustrations and our students were fascinated to observe her serenely painting a watercolour illustration as she answered their questions.

I would sincerely like to thank you for your visit to St Edmund's College yesterday. The boys have said that they thoroughly enjoyed listening to you, and I can vouch, after listening to their great story openings, that it has been so beneficial to the boy's writing. The scaffolding has been very successful and I hope they continue using it as they continue with their story writing, thank you.
