Philip Wilcox was highly motivating. The students responded well and created excellent poems. The showcase was well attended and exciting. Phil was very generous with his time.
Nij is amazing at outreach… he makes even hardcore physics sound like fun!
Liz was very enthusiastic and a pleasure to work with. She engaged the children very well and they all enjoyed the session immensely. We received nothing but positive feedback from parents, wanting to know more about Liz and her work.
I am always impressed with the prompt service whenever I ask for recommendations for authors to come to our school. I have used this agency for many years and am very happy with the professionalism displayed.
Our school was lucky enough to have Sarah visit and talk with our Stage 3 students. Sarah had the students completely engaged from start to finish. Sarah gave them a unique insight into the book creation process. They also came away with lots of practical tips about the craft of writing. The students and staff had such fabulous feedback about Sarah's visit.
Excellent! Great class. Instructions how to write a story were so easy to follow for young children.
R.A. Spratt captivated our Year 4, 5 and 6 boys as part of her tour. We were lucky enough to secure her this year as part of our Book Week and she didn't disappoint. She shared valuable insights into her writing process, read excerpts of her latest book, 'Hamlet is Not Ok' and interacted with our young audience with enthusiasm keeping them entertained the full hour! I recommend this speaker to any primary school.
Having Annaleise visit as part of our school’s lead-up to Book Week and our culminating One School One Book event was a real highlight for our students. Her author talk, ‘Fairytales – Weird, Wonderful, Wild’, took students on a fascinating journey through the origins of fairy tales and the Brothers Grimm. A dramatic reading from her book had the students laughing and completely engaged, and they were thrilled to ask their own questions about her books and writing process. Teachers found the sess [...]
Having Kim come to our centre for her art workshops has been an amazing experience. Even children who usually have no interest in art or being inside found a lot of excitement and passion as Kim arrived each day. Her expertise really shines through as she explains often complex art concepts in a way our 4 and 5-year-olds understood. Each lesson builds on from the previous one, helping children not only understand art a little better but also shapes, colours, and other academic aspects. We foun [...]
Phillip engaged the students with his humour and personal perspectives on writing. The olfactory imagery activity was fruitful and he provided incisive and constructive feedback on student pieces., heightening their awareness of the writing process. He spoke purposefully about creating characters with ambition and motivation.
Jane Smith’s visit was very educational and informative. It made students want to learn more about characters in her books and read her books.
Richard Newsome's visit was very well received by students and staff alike. His presentation was relevant and engaging. I would book him again and recommend him to other organisations
Krista interacted keenly with all year levels from Prep to Year 6 and the content of her talks was engaging. Would recommend her to others and definitely book her again to present at our College.
What WONDERFUL authors we had! (Lisa Hollier and Tracey Roper and Richard Newsome). Our Book Week was a huge success, in no small part due to the fabulous presentations , hard work and obliging attitude of Lisa & Tracey, for the Junior School , and Richard for the Senior School. In both instances , the teachers were rapt, the kids are still excited , the principal is over the moon with the success of it all, I am just plain delighted .. Thank you again so much.
Sandhya Parappukkaran’s session was focused on brainstorming ideas for writing topics. The students left the session truly inspired, begging to continue with their ideas when we returned to class. We have since been able to use these techniques in the classroom. This was an excellent session where the students learnt great skills, including incorporating their own cultures or special memories into their writing.
