What people are saying
Morsi showed a contagious commitment and was an excellent communicator. His target audiences are without doubt teenagers and adults. Having Morsi at our school was very positive and eye opening! TheDanish People’s Party got more than half the votes in the last election in this region, so there are many prejudices against people with foreign backgrounds. Morsi’s presentations became very real when we the following Wednesday was visited by a class from Ellekærskolen in Aarhus where more than 80% o [...]
Giuseppe was excellent for our Year 6 children. He came early and spoke with the teacher about the exact expectations and what the students wanted to get out of the session. He catered for this in his presentation and gave some great examples of how students could get started with drawing images. His presentation was excellent and well thought out and planned. At the conclusion, he took the time to go around and speak with each student and share some ideas and opinions on some of their drawings [...]
Allison was engaging with both parents and students at our extracurricular book club. Her presentation was interesting, and Allison was asked many many questions and eagerly responded to every one of them. Allison is a delightful guest, and I would recommend her to any school, library or book club.
Your session was incredibly well-considered and you engaged brilliantly with the students. They loved hearing about the publishing process and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of a book. We loved getting to know you as a person and a storyteller.
David's sessions with our college on Wednesday went really well and the kids had a great time. We will definitely get him back again next year.
Samantha Wheeler visited our school as part of our Book Week celebrations to provide workshops for our students in Years 4 to 6. The teachers and students were enthralled by Samantha's stories and can't wait to read her books for themselves. Samantha engaged the students by describing her motivation for writing. We were impressed with how Samantha differentiated her workshops for the different year levels.
We had a lovely Literature Event yesterday. Barry Jonsberg was fantastic, all the sessions went smoothly and we have had great feedback from the staff and students. Barry’s sessions had the students laughing and applauding throughout. We are now thinking about next year and would love to have Barry back. We had a great time, thanks so much.
Wow! Nick was fabulous, easy to work with and fabulous with the students. Also he met all our goals. He was very organised and the boys loved working with him. He was very patient and knowledgeable and very forthcoming with individual feedback for the students. We highly recommend Nick to work with students of all ages!
Melinda reinforced many of the ideas we have been sharing with the teachers, about being a visible reader, along with her own experiences of reading and how to get young people reading and building a good reading culture, including author visits and finding the right book. Best of all she read us a story, which fitted well with an overarching theme of Wellness.
Dimity did a great job off the cusp with filling in at the last minute. Next time we would probably have her writing workshop talk about mythical creatures and dragons to tie in with Marc's drawing of the dragons from Deltora Quest. This way the writing group that went first would have a link to use when they went to the drawing workshop.
Katherine Battersby’s workshops and story sessions are full of joy, creativity and imagination. With her gentle warmth and playful humour, she instantly connects with her young audience and brings her books to life. Linked to primary years learning outcomes, her sessions spark curiosity and confidence. Katherine’s “Cranky Comics” sessions invited upper primary and lower secondary school learners the chance to explore comic panelling, speech bubbles and storytelling in a lively hands-on workshop [...]
