I asked for recommendations of presenters in my area and received a detailed and informative response that reflected how well Speakers Ink know their presenters.
J A Henderson visited our school as part of a scheme to enthuse reluctant boy readers in lower school; he certainly did that! The boys were mesmerised by his stories. They talked about his visit for weeks afterwards! Really good, interesting and the funniest day of my life! Your adventures have made me want to be an author!
Allison is a highly personable guest speaker. She brought enthusiasm, experience and expertise to her presentations as part of our Book Week celebrations. Our Stage 3 students responded well and took away loads of practical advice to apply to their own writing. One of our teachers commented post session, “Allison would be great to get back again; especially for a provocation to a writing unit. So many great ideas!” It was a delight meeting Allison and learning more about her craft and her active [...]
Mark was a very well prepared speaker, arriving in plenty of time to set up his space, ready to receive the students. Having art work around as well as music gave the session a real switch around from serious looking into his books to some light hearted singing. His presentation style suited the year 2’s perfectly – he was on their wavelength. And the classroom teachers who attended said they will use Marks’ stories as examples as they learn more about writing narratives. Woul [...]
Pamela's visit was very well received by our girls. The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets she used to accompany her workshops with our year 8 and 10 girls were engaging and useful for the girls when thinking about how to successfully structure a story. I would thoroughly recommend Pamela for an author visit to other schools, particularly all girls' schools as many of her novels deal with females as the main protagonists.
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Zanni to our school to share her writing journey and books. Our students were fascinated and then the magical moment arrived… Zanni asked if they wanted her to read a book! Our students were so enthralled, they would have sat there all day listening. Thank you Zanni, you have changed their lives forever!
“Very engaging and animating. Gaye’s passion is wonderful – a terrific raconteur. Highly interactive, engaging and effective. Brilliant. Well prepared – an experience!”
What an absolute ripper of a time we had with Phil...he was fantastic with the kids and all the teachers loved his presentation. He had the children enthralled, there were no behaviour problems as soon as the children got a bit loud, boisterous or over enthusiastic he calmed them down and got them back ontrack. His teaching background helps a lot in this respect and he had a good rapport with them and got them involved too. Phil is a great person to get along with, the staff here enjoyed his com [...]
Thank you so much for visiting Nudgee College yesterday and speaking with our Writers’ Circle boys. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. The boys – particularly the Years 5-7s – absolutely raved about your presentation. Thank you again.
Recently, at Wideview Public School, we had the pleasure of being part of Serena Geddes’ workshops on illustrating. We felt it was important to highlight the importance of illustrators/illustrations in the overall presentation of children’s literature. With that in mind, Serena began her workshop by showing the variety of illustrations she had already completed in a diverse collection of publications. She then proceeded to demonstrate the necessary steps in preparation of a finished [...]
