Choose Your Own Adventure!
To tie in with the 2025 Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, Dave Lowe has adapted his popular ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ workshop, as a ‘presentation’-style 45- / 60-minute session for large groups of students, from Years 3 to 8. In this fun, highly-interactive session, Dave will share insights into ideas-generation and plotting, and give each student a story template, as well as all the tips and tricks they’ll need to make their own short ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’-style book that they can take home and try out on friends and family.

Dave went well beyond expectations. He was enthusiastic and energetic and connected with all students from Prep right through to Year 6, engaging them throughout the whole presentation. The workshops were effective and useful for the Year 3 – 6 students. They learned many new things and have been utilising skills and techniques within the classroom already.

We’ve had our Author Visit with Catherine Bateson during Book Week and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The workshop was engaging and the boys were immediately hands-on.
It was an absolute pleasure to have John at our school during Book Week celebrations. He went above and beyond with the children he spoke to throughout the day. Many of the teachers approached me afterwards to give positive feedback.
Tim Harris presented to our students in virtual presentations. He engaged with the students and was attentive to the audience and their questions. Tim apologised for not being able to present live due to illness and more than made up for this via the virtual presentations.
Paridhi visited our classroom last term to motivate the children's narrative writing. She demonstrated how she illustrates her story books, read one of her stories and completed some guided drawing with the students. The children were very engaged and interested in Paridhi presentation. They were wowed when she used her technology to show how her draft drawings could be turned into the finished coloured illustrations.
