Choose Your Own Adventure!
To tie in with the 2025 Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, Dave Lowe has adapted his popular ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ workshop, as a ‘presentation’-style 45- / 60-minute session for large groups of students, from Years 3 to 8. In this fun, highly-interactive session, Dave will share insights into ideas-generation and plotting, and give each student a story template, as well as all the tips and tricks they’ll need to make their own short ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’-style book that they can take home and try out on friends and family.

What people are saying
Thank you for speaking to the Year 3 cohort, 38 boys and you held them in the palm of your hand. The questions were interesting and that's always a sign the boys enjoyed the talk.
I have been dealing with Speakers Ink for nearly 10 years now and always find the staff to be very helpful and accommodating, particularly through the recent years. It may have taken 3 years but we finally got Tristan over the border!
David has a great ability to connect with students and keep them motivated. His use of music to inspire writing is so good and the students loved it! Some classes that had a large number of reluctant writers ALL came out with a story at the end of his workshop. That is amazing!
Jess was engaging and fun to listen too. She shared lots of stories that were relatable to the children and they enjoyed hearing about the background information related to the series of books she has written. Her ideas for writing stories were easy and fun and we have even tried to have a go at writing like this with our students. A fun and relatable author whose books offer great range for our Year 3 students.
Kate has a warm kind spirit and our students found her presentation engaging and exciting. The writers workshop was a resounding success with the students immediately feeling inspired and excited to start writing stories. Kate's knowledge on Autism was also shared so passionately that students came forward to share their experiences with her and talk more about it. I would recommend Kate to anyone who wants not only a genuinely talented writer and speaker, but an all round exceptionally lovely l [...]
Engaged from start to finish - Not a lot of people can hold a crowd for 8 hours but Rachal, you did this with your usual style and professionalism, Thank you for stretching me and getting me out of my comfort zone.
Thank you so much for coming to visit our school today and sharing your amazing books! The kids loved it, and they were so engaged. It was a pleasure to have such a talented writer visit our school.
Phil created a lovely rapport with our students and teachers. He shared some great writing tips and reminded our students that inspiration exists everywhere!
Students loved Edwina. She is a very engaging speaker who motivates students who are reluctant writers to focus and produce a piece of writing they were happy to share with their peers! Love her Yoga 'brain breaks'. This helped students to stay focused too!!
Peter Carnavas was wonderful. His presentations were very well received & he is a delightful person to host.
Andrew is so passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic and his presentations are very engaging, inspiring and educational. He maintained interest for a full hour with our young children 3-5 years brilliantly. The children love his books and respond to his enthusiasm. There is so much to learn, explore and discover in them.
Mawter's stories have the uncouth humour reminiscent of Roald Dahl and Paul Jennings and therefore children will find them absolutely delightful.
