Very interesting, well presented, engaging workshop for children

What a fantastic day! Thank you so much for the excitement and amazing inspiration for both reading and illustrating that you shared with our class today. The children were totally engaged with your workshop and I have never seen such enthusiasm for books and drawing as I have after your visit.

Amy Andrews appeared as part of the Be Still My Beating Heart: Writing Romance panel at the 2014 Byron Writers Festival alongside celebrity comedian Mandy Nolan. Zena was personable and knowledgeable. She designed an immersive creative writing tour that inspired student's creativity and enhanced their writing skills. I would recommend her workshops for schools looking to inspire enthusiastic young writers in their schools.

Extremely well-structured and thought-provoking, excellent use of props, highly relevant to today's energy-conscious world, Nij's enthusiasm was fantastic. It was obvious that Nij was having a great fun time, and in turn our students were thoroughly engaged.

I had the pleasure of working with Annaleise through the Author Pen Pals program, and I cannot speak highly enough of her engagement with the children. We were paired with over 130 Year 3/4 students in a library learning context. At all times throughout our ‘snail mail’ correspondence, Annaleise was swift with her lengthy, informative, humorous and regular responses. Prue Mason did a great writing workshop with the 4-7s using hats. The kids were busy the whole time and she left the worksheets for the teachers to continue using in the class.

Kellie was well prepared and engaging during her storytime sessions. She catered well to the audience ages and we enjoyed hearing her back story as well.

Matt did a great job stimulating the boys’ interest in an alternative look at Brisbane’s past.

Great organisation and communication

Chris came fully organised and prepared for his show which proved to be a hit. He ably pitched the material to suit the age of his audience so they were fully engaged. Chris included plenty of information about his passion for writing and his experiences in producing his books, which allowed the children to learn a great deal about the role of an author.

We have finished our Step into Stories program and it was a great success. I have heard nothing but wonderful comments and praise about Trevor Fourmile.

Alison Stegert ran two primary school workshops during our Book Week Celebrations 2018. She ran a very interactive story time, showing the children what people wore during the time of the story’s setting. She used different hats to depict the different characters as she read aloud, which the children loved!
