What people are saying
Cameron worked well with each year level. His workshops were fun and engaging and age level appropriate. The students really enjoyed their time with him.
Debora was engaging, knowledgeable, relatable and lots of fun. Every class came away from their session enthusiastic about her books as well as writing their own stories.
Astred Hicks has recently delivered a guest lecture to a group of students in the Master of Publishing program, for the second year in the row. Her expertise, passion, and ability to engage and inspire the students were truly remarkable. Her love for books and design was contagious, which created a positive and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom. Astred encouraged students to embrace creativity, think outside the box, and push the boundaries of traditional book cover design and illustration. [...]
Communication was very clear and exceeded our expectations.
Jonathan was great with the boys. He read to them, explained his writing and illustrating processes and then invited the boys to draw ideas that he could use in his new book. The boys were totally engaged for the session.
Matthew was a pleasure to work with and wowed those present with his knowledge and insights
David Hallett challenged many of our students' personal views of poetry and politics. His performances allowed students to appreciate the malleability of poetry, highlighting the fact it is far more than words on a page.
James was a huge hit with our students and his sessions sold out - up to 800 students in our biggest venue. He had the kids enthralled and was such a pleasure to work with too. He is very easy going and positive.
Pip captivated the audience with an engaging and interactive session that left a lasting impression on everyone present. Pip shared insights into her writing journey, the inspiration behind her works, and the creative process that brings her stories to life. The interactive nature of the talk allowed students to ask questions and gain valuable advice on developing their own narratives.
“We thoroughly enjoyed the workshop! Tiff’s use of props and visuals to connect with the themes in her beautiful book was very engaging and stimulating for our students. The students and I loved learning about Wonder Earth with Tiff”
We have now booked Prue Mason for the past 4 years and she always meets our expectations. When students have read and analysed one or two of her novels and can then ask questions of the author face to face, it is very special. Her workshop makes the reading relevant but also stimulates in the children an interest to write for fun. We shall book Prue for next year and would encourage other schools to do so as well.
