What people are saying
Howell pays lovely attention to detail, and writes with a good deal of psychological insight . . . while building empathy for Ella Marconi. The detective is a complex and appealing character whose passion for crime solving is both endearing and compelling and keeps the pace of the book racing.
Irena is a wonderful woman. At all times she was co-operative and willing to contribute her time and talent for the service of others. Her attitude and presentation were always first class. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Irena as an Artist-in Residence
Isobelle Carmody's delivery was spot on for our audience
Deb was a very engaging speaker and performer. The children really enjoyed the visit and have been madly borrowing her books. Deb pitched her talk to each year level and managed to have everyone laughing and learning at their level - including the teachers.
Richard Yaxley was wonderful this year, really knows his stuff and was easy to talk to and spent a lot of time with each of the entrants.
Just wanting to let you know that Lisa & Tracy's visit last Friday was very successful. The students enjoyed it immensely and the teachers were very impressed as well. So... very happy all round.
What I think is important is that your ideas are successful with students and that you quickly engage them, they learn to trust your work, knowledge and feedback. I think your breakdown of teaching sequence is clear and easy to follow and you sell it in your presentations. The feedback from my Grade 5 class after today's workshop was very positive.
It was really really good and I liked going through the photos. She took a really good photo and we all didn't know it was a fake! I enjoyed that she had a lot of description about how she made her three books come together. She told us about the prehistoric times and the characters. It was fun. Jo gave us tips for our writing and it was nice to know that new and different stuff.
Amy Andrews appeared as part of the Be Still My Beating Heart: Writing Romance panel at the 2014 Byron Writers Festival alongside celebrity comedian Mandy Nolan. Amy was witty, engaging and informative. She has a wonderful sense of humour and a real skill in answering questions from the audience. Amy is passionate, dynamic and amusing. She presents with a refreshingly honesty perspective – authentic and genuine. We invited Amy to Festival after seeing her perform at numerous Romance Writers o [...]
All communications with Speakers Ink Agency were effective and prompt. Staff were very pleasant to deal with.
Everyone here was thrilled with the effort, care and attention shown by Angela in the judging process, presentation at the awards event and workshop the following morning. Angela provided the audience with a passionately entertaining judges report and spent time afterward talking to entrants individually. The next day there was a good crowd of eager participants including some school students given time out from school because they were so impressed with Angela the evening before. I would highl [...]
A big thank you to you for such a wonderful day! The children and staff I might add had a great time creating their artwork and the final products look fantastic. They are all so proud. My class did some final reflections about your lesson and the information they have taken away amazes me. They were really listening to you, taking on board the different skills and techniques you were showing them. I’ve spoken to our Head and Deputy Head of School about how wonderful you were, how focused [...]
