We finished Book Week with Author Milly Reynolds and Illustrator Simon Dechon facilitating writing and drawing workshops for an entire day with all K-6 students. Isobelle was simply wonderful.

Victoria was very well organised and an engaging speaker. She ensured that her presentation took into consideration the upcoming assessment task for the students by using one of her stories as a framework. The workshop activity was well structured and the students enjoyed the writing exercises. She generously gave prizes and this was very well received.

The Narrative Workshops in Year 3/4 conducted by Chrissy Byers were extremely rewarding for students. They were well run and made efficient use of time. The visual prompts used were engaging and made it possible for the students to clearly structure a narrative into beginning, middle and end. Vikki is engaging and inspirational. She filled the children with enthusiasm and wonder, helping them to think in new ways. She connected her own childhood with her writing, inspiring the children to use their personal experiences in creative ways.

I did have some issues with finding a speaker who was available to meet our needs. The staff from Speakers Ink preserved in finding a speaker to meet our needs including days and time.

We had six virtual sessions with Chris, spread across two different days. I appreciated that he took on feedback I delivered from the first days sessions and applied this to the latter three sessions. Applying the feedback brought some more structure to the sessions and allowed the students to learn more about Chris and his practice, which showed them why the workshop was relevant and why he was a relevant person to deliver the workshop (as opposed to the same prompts coming from their teachers) [...]

Prue is an exceptional speaker who connects with students and seeks to ensure that their questions are answered. She admirably prepares herself for her presentations. Prue's wisdom, care and compassion make her an excellent writer, and presenter.

The session was amazing… the feedback from the kids has been super positive. Deb proved to them that IDEAS for writing are right before their eyes! She was absolutely fabulous – we are all eagerly awaiting the next book!

I have been very lucky to have Lorraine come to 6 of my little regional schools to take poetry workshops. As a mobile library teacher my role is to teach students the many wonders of literature and hopefully as a consequence instil a love of reading. Lorraine has been a wonderful addition to my program. Cameron and his wife Jenny were very thorough in the lead up to his visit, with detailed emails about how to make the most of his visit. They were very easy to deal with and all emails were responded to promptly. Cameron easily managed the student groups (Prep - Year 2) and his presentations engaged the students, especially the illustration aspect of his presentation.
