We had Shane McCarthy in the Senior School and he was terrific! Shane worked with Years 7-10 English classes and thoroughly engaged the students. He also struck up many informal and enthusiastic conversations with both staff and students between classes. The English faculty were very impressed with the way in which Shane interacted with the students and got them thinking about their writing and viewing.

Our Prep students loved Serena. She read one of her books and conducted a drawing workshop. The students really enjoyed learning new techniques about how to draw characters with expression. Every one of them walked away afterwards with a smile on their face and some wonderful drawings. Serena has a lovely bubbly personality and was thoroughly entertaining and engaging.

Angela engaged the students with her presentation. They benefited from both her story-writing guidance and her advice about illustration.

Victoria was great with our students. She worked with them to build their ideas and to express themselves creatively. The students thoroughly enjoyed her presentation and she was very generous with her time when they had a lot of questions.

"Gaye Chapman brings a different dimension to the illustrator session. Her multi-sensory games give the children a chance to fully participate in activities leading them to draw without constraints. Kerry did a fantastic session with the children, she contacted the library before the event to clarify our expectations of the day / event and to gather information on the target audience. She was really great.

Katherine was an entertaining speaker and our students enjoyed her presentation and workshop. I would recommend her and Speakers Ink, as both were professional, friendly, and excellent for our school.

James Roy is a fabulous story teller. He had our year 7 & 8's enthralled. Staff and students enjoyed the day and we would welcome James back any time.

Jess was fantastic and will be highly recommended to others. After speaking to my staff, they all commented and stated that she was able to address the students at their levels. Her use of videos in the presentation made it more interesting and personal.

Kristin was highly engaging with this age group while at the same time encouraging students to tell their own stories. I would definitely recommend her to other schools.

Susy Boyer did an interactive chalk pastel workshop with our class 1 and 2 children. I had been to a workshop with Susy in previous years at another school and thought of her instantly when organizing a drawing workshop with young children. Susy is very professional and teaches the children with a calm and patient manner. She was well received by teachers and children, who all got more than they were expecting from the workshop and I would be happy to use Susy’s services again.

The presentation was engaging, succinct and explicit. Ideas/information relevant to in-class writing program - how to improve students' own writing using different techniques. Important tips of pursuing a career in writing. It was good to hear from a "real life" author.
