Justin D’Ath is the author of 50+ books for children and young adults, including the best-selling Extremes Adventures (published in 9 countries and adapted for TV) and the very popular Mission Fox series.
Published on the 10th anniversary of Black Saturday, Justin’s latest novel for children, 47 Degrees, draws on his own experience of losing his house in the worst bushfires in Australia’s recorded history. ‘An action-adventure that rings of truth, 47 Degrees is also a story about courage, empathy, the importance of family and communities, and how the worst times can bring out the best in people. 5 Stars.’ Books + Publishing.
Always a story-teller, Justin’s message is: “Enjoy reading. I want children to become lost in my books; to experience the magic of the written word; to see that reading is not a chore, it’s one of the most exciting, imaginative and enjoyable things they can do.”

Testimonials
Justin was one of the absolutely superlative presenters at our literature carnival this year. As a group, they expanded the students munitions of creativity and were very well received by all staff. Their presentations were highly engaging as they were diverse. Students had a full immersion into the world of the writer, storyteller and illustrator. I personally wish to express my gratitude to their unbounding energy and galvanising a week of learning and fun into the minds of our students and teachers.
Belmont State School - August 2018Justin was a very engaging speaker. He shared some useful information about his journey as a writer and helpful writing tips.
Fraser Coast Libraries - July 2018We really enjoyed Justin's presentation. He was excellent. He hit the right note with the younger boys, we all enjoyed his stories and we loved the fact that he was open to taking questions from the students. His books have flown off the library shelves, a testament both as a presenter and writer. He clearly hit the mark with his audience. We are happy to recommend Justin to future clients.
St Joseph's College (Terrace) - August, 2017Justin engaged our students by sharing his stories and the writing process. He was entertaining and has generated interest in reading and writing. Thank you, Justin, for a very successful visit.
Genesis Christian College - August, 2017The kids eat up Justin's books. He also has rewritten his presentation twice at my request, which was fabulous.

What people are saying
I enjoyed the memoir writing workshop opportunity. It made me think very differently about why and what I'm writing. In addition to what I learned, I now have a clear path on next steps. Sarah taught me a lot about being more creative. Her session truly opened my mind. She's clear in message, and compassionate in approach.
Angela engaged the students with her presentation. They benefited from both her story-writing guidance and her advice about illustration.
The speaker engaged the students. Students were impressed by the presentation.
Fantastic connection to the students, very easy going and such a humble man.
Thank you for single-handedly bringing my 10 year old son back to reading.
Edwina Shaw was a fabulous addition to our Literary Festival. She taught our Year 9 boys to write effectively by engaging their interests and making writing relatable and enjoyable. Her creative techniques, meditation and visualising were effective in drawing out their ideas and encouraging personal expression. Shaw's approach included interactive activities, real-life examples, and positive reinforcement to build their confidence and skills in writing.
We recently booked Andrew King for the Robotronica event at QUT Gardens Point. Andrew's storytelling style fitted perfectly with the First 5 Forever early literacy program. Andrew engaged in conversational reading with the children, discussed the illustrations, brought along characters from his books and encouraged the children to draw their own Bear Bot. He also brought along stickers and design paper for the children to use. I would recommend Andrew King to other organisations and would be onl [...]
Pamela's visit was very well received by our girls. The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets she used to accompany her workshops with our year 8 and 10 girls were engaging and useful for the girls when thinking about how to successfully structure a story. I would thoroughly recommend Pamela for an author visit to other schools, particularly all girls' schools as many of her novels deal with females as the main protagonists.
Rachal was amazing - Friendly and down to earth, she was super easy to relate to and get into that frame of mind to absorb the training being put in front of us. Weeks later, I'm happy to say that I am using some of Rachal's teachings on a daily basis without even realising it, but am trying to be mindful to purposefully wield them. Having anxiety as well, she has given me some really useful tools to manage my time and priorities as well as of use in 'those kind' of conversations with clients. T [...]
