Choose Your Own Adventure!
To tie in with the 2025 Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, Dave Lowe has adapted his popular ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ workshop, as a ‘presentation’-style 45- / 60-minute session for large groups of students, from Years 3 to 8. In this fun, highly-interactive session, Dave will share insights into ideas-generation and plotting, and give each student a story template, as well as all the tips and tricks they’ll need to make their own short ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’-style book that they can take home and try out on friends and family.

What people are saying
Extremely useful. I appreciate the depth of content and links. I am a great advocate for picture books in my teaching and now preparing Inquiry Learning packages connected to picture books for our school. My list has just grown!
Dave was brilliant, the students loved him. They have an art show next week and some will be doing cartoons - they were so inspired by him. Would definitely recommend him to others and he more than met our expectations.
I was impressed with your attention to detail, efficiency and preparedness to help us out at short notice.
Lisa’s presentation was highly engaging, entertaining and informative. A fun and dynamic speaker great at plugging into kid’s imaginations.
Cath’s passion for writing is so infectious – certainly some of the best feedback we’ve had on a speaker.
Tannya was generous with her time and flexible with her presentation. The children were engaged throughout the sessions and came away with a successful drawing. She used kid friendly language, her drawing instruction was simple and appropriately step by step, very interactive, her displays were great and she coped well with the vagaries of technology. She has a different illustrative style to most others which provides breadth of experience for our children. Sydney school, 2024
The workshop was engaging and the boys were immediately hands-on.
Paula’s presentation was greatly appreciated by participants, who found it very inspiring and useful.

Year 5 students and teachers gained so much from Michelle’s presentation. The teachers took many notes to enhance their poetry unit for next year.
John's presentation was interesting and at times humorous. It kept the kids engaged and wanting more of his "stories"
After Kathmandu announced the acquisition of Rip Curl, Tim did a magnificent job bringing “The Rip Curl Story” to life at our Kathmandu management conference. He was inspiring, full of humour and very knowledgeable sharing the essence of Rip Curl and its founders. The entire management team – around 70 team members – had a great evening listening to Tim. We are even more excited about partnering up with an iconic brand like Rip Curl after Tim’s presentation.’
We were fortunate to have Gwyneth and Megan present to our students here at All Saints as part of our biannual Livewire Festival this year. The ladies presented information about their books The Travel Adventures of PJ Mouse, in particular the Queensland story. Their presentations were engaging and interesting. They really inspired students to reflect and write about their own travels. This impact continued throughout the semester. We would certainly welcome them back to our school.
