What people are saying
Our heartfelt thanks to Jonathan for his amazing sessions at Queen of Apostles School. I have heard nothing but high praise for him from both students and staff. Apparently he went above and beyond and everyone was thrilled to bits with his visit.
During our Book Week celebrations this year we were delighted to have Serena Geddes spend time with our students from Kindergarten to Year 6. With the younger students (Kindy – Yr 2) she spoke with enthusiasm about the way her illustrations make it into books and entertained the students with her drawings making sure there was collaboration from the students as to what she drew. One of our students was chosen to help her as she read Samuel’s Kisses and he will certainly remember thi [...]
Cristy masterfully combines STEM and creativity … displaying how these concepts are stronger together. Staff walked away inspired and excited about incorporating creative learning into our programming and sharing their knowledge and experience with others.
Susy was fantastic!! Her talk / workshop was great and the kids really enjoyed it. She was really enthusiastic, easy-going, relaxed and fun and I would certainly recommend her to any school. In fact, I'd like to have a "Festival of Favourites" and she'd be on the top of my list to get back again.
Kate and Jol delivered engaging workshops for our students, focusing on narrative writing strategies in the lead-up to NAPLAN. They worked with students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, presenting interactive and age-appropriate sessions that captured students’ interest. Students left the workshops with practical ideas and strategies that they were able to apply in their NAPLAN writing tasks and in classroom assessment. We particularly appreciated the flexibility of their presentation format, which was e [...]
Vikki is engaging and inspirational. She filled the children with enthusiasm and wonder, helping them to think in new ways. She connected her own childhood with her writing, inspiring the children to use their personal experiences in creative ways.
Aleesah was marvellous. We did not have a data projector on the first day and she happily adjusted to suit. She came across as competent, friendly and approachable. The students were individually supported well by her and inspired by her experiences and stories.
I was very happy with Deborah Abela and James Roy’s presentations. They related well to all the students from the young grade sixers through to the senior year twelves. Students found them humorous and very engaging. I would definitely recommend them to any school.
The agency was easy to deal with and always responded to emails in a timely manner. They were very helpful when I was looking for an author because they were able to tell me who the best person to meet the needs of our school would be.
Katherine was great - was very interesting and well-spoken and answered plenty of questions. I would definitely book her again - would probably try and get Katherine to talk at one of our other libraries - and would have no hesitation in recommending her to other organisations.
Siggo shared what it's like to work as a professional illustrator and gave students a step-by-step look at how characters are created-from loose sketches to fully expressive drawings. He had the kids laughing, thinking, and most importantly, drawing. Every pupil got involved, and the results were amazing. Students explored how to show emotion through facial features, played with proportions, and even created their own original characters. The excitement and focus in the room was a joy to see.
Excellent mix of reading, writing stories. Interesting travel adventures and activities for the students
