Kate and Jol have created a practical talk to give kids real tips that break down story into simple steps and provide the tools for getting the pen moving. What people are saying
Michelle was extremely accommodating and had developed a presentation to match the information provided by our school. Very personized engaging and age appropriate. The students thoroughly enjoyed having Fairy Belle use her beautiful fairy wings to fly to our school for a visit and weave her storytelling magic!
Sue exceeded expectations. She was brilliant and received great feedback from our participants. Thank you for your service. It is great to work with such an organised team.
Gregg is a very entertaining speaker. He mesmerised our students and staff from Prep - Yr 6 with his humour, storytelling, music and dance. Everyone held onto everyone of his words as he shared his knowledge of his family's culture. Parents commented that his visit was the first thing their children talked about when they got in the car that afternoon; and staff who missed Gregg's performance were very disappointed as he was the talk of the staffroom at lunch!
Carla was the guest author at our annual Read With Your Dad event. This involves students and their Dads all reading the same book then attending an author evening. Feedback from all was that they really enjoyed Carla's book, We Saw What You Started and found the action, characters and setting all drew them in. From my perspective as a teacher librarian, I loved that I could easily recommend this book as both suitable and enjoyable to our readers aged 12 - 15. On the evening of the event, we cou [...]
I have attended several of Alison’s workshops, the most recent being the Cairns Tropical Writers’ Conference. Alison gave a presentation that was well researched, with informative slides and handouts that were understandable and not overloaded in detail. Not only was her workshop presentation excellent, her interactive management of the group (over twenty plus people) kept her audience engaged for over an hour. I have known Alison for more than five years as a friend and mentor. I consider her [...]
Randa was not only warm and open with our students, her presentations were very well organised, and interactive. She is amazing at what she does. Her ability to tell her own story, challenge perspectives whilst interweaving opportunities for students to explore their own thinking and writing was truly a privilege.
Kellie was well prepared and engaging during her storytime sessions. She catered well to the audience ages and we enjoyed hearing her back story as well.
Cori Brooke was invited to speak to our Prep to year 3 students, as a part of our Book Week 2020 celebrations. She captivated them with her stories, funny props and entertaining anecdotes. She explained her personal writing process very well and it was very inspiring for students to see her notebook. Our students were full of questions and wonderment at meeting her as an author and I can report that they were thoroughly entertained for each of the 45 minute sessions. It was a very successful day [...]
I was very impressed with the way Speakers Ink worked so hard to ensure we had Speakers for our Book Week this year. After a last minute cancellation by who we had booked in, Sandie worked very hard to find someone who would do a great job and she chose very well for us. Thanks very much to Sandie and the team.
I just wanted to thank you on behalf of Ormiston College. Our guest visitors certainly enjoyed your presentation and as one person said on leaving “From now on I will be looking for his cartoon before I even read the front page.” Thank you again for being a part of our 25th Anniversary Literary Lunch.
I wanted to let you know about the success of the Writers’ block event, at Robina branch library and auditorium last Saturday. It was such a good day and the feedback we received on the speakers was overwhelmingly positive. Frances was very engaging, great to work with, and pitched her presentation perfectly for the event. She made it so easy for City Libraries to look good. Thanks for your assistance in finding excellent speakers to make this event so successful.
Juliette was brilliant. Funny, entertaining, professional. Such a treat to have her in our school and absolutely loved by everyone. Thank you so much for the opportunity to have her share her stories and laughter.
Informative & engaging for our young audience. Connected to our families and a great sharing knowledge.
